CALLIGRAPHY ON 3D OBJECTS.

This class is suitable for absolute beginners and those with some experience.
Words can be selected because you love them, or for their relevance to the object you write them on; a talking stick with words about speech, a box with words suggestive of the contents, a wooden spoon with the word 'delicious'
In this workshop I will help you with the basics of calligraphy, then you can choose to work on any of the following: stones, larger rocks for your garden, wooden pencils, wooden boxes, any object you care to bring.
You are welcome to call/message to check the viability of any object 07722 997719

If you would like to create a commemorative stone for exterior use, this is very possible. It will not last indefinitely outside but in my experience it is satisfactory. See example/photo.
We will use pencil, Staedtler pens and dip-pens with mixtures of coloured acrylics and Pearl Ex. These materials are chosen for their ability to adhere to both porous and non-porous surfaces. We will talk about best ways to ‘seal’ surfaces to avoid bleeding/blurring.
I will teach handy tricks for drawing straight, radiating lines on 3D objects. Like those on a map or sun rays.
This workshop will include 3D cartography. That is to say adapting stones, suggestive of maps, to resemble small globes with compasses, land & sea, small galleons etc.
Given time I may speak a bit about how to find your motivation to practice; the most common obstacle to success in this field.
I would like ambitious students to leave with the confidence to adorn their homes. Walls, furniture or fixtures. Banisters, shelves, wooden chairs etc.

This stone with Pearl-Ex and Staedtler pen has survived 2 winters so far.
