About me, your teacher.
I have worked as a woven textile designer, a builder/tiler and a social worker. I’ve designed and taught courses for college students in painting and drawing, ceramic mosaics, wall and floor tiling.
I’ve been working with ‘stone canvases’ for 15 years, selling my work and teaching the techniques I’ve developed along the way.
If you will trust me with some of your precious time, I will be honoured to teach you, and strive to deliver a nourishing, relaxing and satisfying experience.

My attitude to teaching.
I think the creative process at its best is an adventure. It’s about curiosity and experimentation.
We are all born creative, we just need the right environment to support and nurture us. To this end I begin every Workshop with 5 minutes quiet contemplation. I encourage students to notice any obstacles to full engagement with what’s on offer. E.g. comparing ourselves with others.
I pride myself on creating a safe, non-judgmental environment.
I encourage mutual support among students, which is not difficult; people are much kinder than we think and we are usually our own worst critics.
So watch out for those negative thoughts, they sneak in and spoil the fun!
If you take this course in conjunction with others of mine you will find you can combine the techniques with limitless permutations.
